Balinese Festival Preparation [Photo Story Example]

 

Anak Agung prepares decorations for a Hindu festival in Bali in January, 2019. Though most people in Indonesia practice Islam, Hinduism is the primary religion on the island of Bali.

Palm fronds are looped and tied to poles to create temporary decorations. Everything will be taken down and tossed in the compost when the festival is over tomorrow.

Volunteers at a Hindu temple worked all day to create decorations for the Hari Raya Saraswati festival in Bali, Indonesia. This day is devoted to Saraswati the Goddess of Knowledge and Creativity.
